I’ve got to admit, I wasn’t totally surprised at this week’s result- a 2lb gain.
It’s not as if I’ve been particularly bad, because I haven’t. However, you know when you just feel something isn’t right? I felt like that. I had hoped it was just bloated.
So, I’m going to keep the diary short and sweet, because I’m currently squirreling away working on the plan for the coming week and batch cooking in a manner you’d expect in a school kitchen.
Thinking Up, Looking Down
The thing with a gain when you’re doing Slimming World is your first reaction is that of disappointment, especially when you put a lot of effort into having a decent week. However, I spent the interim between the weigh in and Image Therapy starting talking to another member when it came to me- I’ve probably gone crazy on the carbohydrates.
After all, I do eat a lot of pasta, rice, potatoes and my exercise is reasonably sedentary. That’s not to say that carbs are bad, but I think I straddled the border between good and excessive and thus the gain. That and my reliance on pan frying a lot of things.
So this week I am doing an experiment. I’m swapping some things I’d usually eat for vegetable alternatives. Prime example- cauliflower rice. I’m currently making a load of stir-fries with it instead of noodles that I can take to work with me.
I’ll let you know how it goes. However what I can say is my freezer is rapidly filling up with tubs of vegetable and meat stir fried treats…..
The Week Ahead
Next week normal service will resume with the diary- and I’m hoping for as big a weight loss as possible. Apologies it’s a bit on the short side this week, I might do a post during the week to make up for it….
